Helen Mirren Will Be Awarded Golden Globe Career Honor.
The distinguished UK star Helen Mirren, previously holder of an Academy Award, multiple Bafta awards, Golden Globe wins, five Emmy Awards, plus a Tony, is set to add another major award to her trophy case: the Cecil B. DeMille Golden Globe lifetime honor.

Dame Helen, eighty, formerly given a damehood during 2003 and named a BAFTA fellow in the year 2014, will pick up the accolade in a ceremony on the eighth of January, three days before the main Golden Globes take place, during an event billed by the Golden Globes as the “Golden Eve”.
This will also include the presentation of the Globes’ Carol Burnett honor for small-screen contributions, whose winner is still to be revealed. The prior year’s honorees were Viola Davis and Ted Danson.
“Helen Mirren is a force of nature, and her professional journey is truly remarkable,” said the organization’s president, Helen Hoehne. “Her brilliant portrayals and commitment to her craft continue to inspire numerous actors and audiences alike. It is a profound honour to present her with the Cecil B DeMille award.”

Mirren became well-known in the 1970s via important performances in theater in the West End of London and with the Royal Shakespeare Company and in cinematic works like O Lucky Man!, Caligula and The Long Good Friday.
During the nineties, her prominent part in the crime series Prime Suspect broadened her fanbase even more. Other important films comprise Excalibur, The Madness of King George, The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, Gosford Park & Calendar Girls.
She earned an Academy Award for her portrayal as Queen Elizabeth II in the cinematic work The Queen, a part she returned to in 2013 for The Audience, the theatrical work from Peter Morgan concerning the sessions involving the monarch and the PM Thatcher, a role for which she received a Tony Award in 2015.
