Jurgen Klopp admits coming back to manage Liverpool is conceivable.

The German coach, who departed from Liverpool in 2024, indicated that returning someday remains an option. The 58-year-old, after a transformative nine-year spell which brought continental glory and the Reds’ first league title in 30 years, has since taken on roles overseeing worldwide football with the Red Bull group and as an advisor for the DFL.

Supporters’ Hopes and His Frank Comments

The club claimed the league title under Arne Slot, though countless followers who revere Klopp would welcome the possibility of his potential comeback. In a wide-ranging interview, he shared with Steven Bartlett: “I declared I won't manage any other side within the country. So that means should it be the Reds...yeah. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“Being 58, that means I could make the decision in a few years, it's uncertain. Is a decision required immediately? Then I will not coach again. But thank God, it's not necessary. I'll wait and observe how things unfold.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Questioned regarding which situations would have to unfold to tempt his return to the dugout, Klopp admitted he feels no immediate pull toward coming back. “I don’t even know exactly, I love what I do right now,” he stated. “No longing for management; I avoid standing under bad weather for two-and-a-half or three hours; I'm glad to skip press conferences four times, three times a week or doing numerous chats a week.

“No nostalgia for the changing area as a dressing room, however, dining out alongside the squad having a nice chat, that’s nice. Success was frequent meaning regularly positive atmosphere around the place. I still have Van Dijk's laughter ringing in my ears as an instance.”

Commending Arne Slot

He commended for his successor, crediting him for the adjustments that took the title in the previous season. They've been defeated four consecutive matches in all competitions after a summer spending spree, yet he dismissed the suggestion it could be a decline.

“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker such as Wirtz, you will all eat your words if you use the wrong words. He’s an incredible talent. Ekitike, excellent performer. It’s a really good thoughtfully assembled roster. You don’t have to worry over the club, they'll bounce back.”

Heartfelt Words for the Late Forward

Klopp also spoke emotionally about the death of the Portuguese star, a 2020 acquisition during his tenure, and its impact at the club. The Portugal international lost his life in a vehicle collision together with his sibling recently.

“How do you replace a person like him? This isn't just regarding his on-field talent, it's his character. It's hard to picture the squad missing him. I still cannot speak properly on this topic. A devastating blow for the entire squad too. Not a single person would cite it as an excuse though it's a fact. Entering the changing area where his spirit remains. Handling this emotionally is difficult. Unbearable.”
