Star Denies Anti-Vaxxer Position After Lending His Voice To Disputed Coronavirus Film

The "Taken" star has lent his voice to a feature-length documentary that casts doubt on the safety of vaccines and commends former cabinet secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Documentary's Disputed Origins

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is adapted from a well-known publication co-authored by a controversial scientist, who rose to infamy during the global outbreak for allegations that Covid was a result of a faulty batch of the influenza shot.

The book's co-author, Kent Heckenlively, has previously authored books with conspiracy-prone figure Alex Jones. The producer took to social media hailing Neeson's role in the documentary.

A Strong Rebuttal

The team of Neeson have released a response pushing back against claims that he subscribes to anti-vax sentiments.

"Everyone can recognize that misconduct might be present within the drug industry, but that must not be equated to opposition to vaccines," the comment reads. "Liam is not, and remains not, anti-vax. His long work with the UN children's agency reinforces his long-held support for public-health initiatives."

The response noted that the performer had no hand in the project's narrative and that questions about its content are best addressed to the creators.

Key Assertions Within the Documentary

According to the documentary, the narration read by Neeson includes several controversial statements:

  • It suggests that pro-vaccine voices have insisted on "unconditional submission" to public institutions.
  • It argues that "medical science has become highly politicised."
  • Kennedy is featured claiming, "The big problem with vaccines is that they are not safely tested."
  • The narration takes aim at pandemic restrictions, claiming they caused mental anguish that resulted in thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of Covid vaccines, it cites a perspective that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "risky trials."

Previous Background and Current Debates

The documentary includes a past television report about AIDS medication trials on children, which was afterwards the focus of a formal apology by the network for unbalanced reporting.

Last month, Kennedy directed the Centers for Disease Control to change its longstanding position that there is no link between immunizations and autism. This claim is also referenced in the film, even with a recent study from the World Health Organisation confirming no such link has been found.

A Past Statement of Advocacy

Differing from the documentary's narrative, Neeson has in the past expressed strong support for vaccines in his role as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

Two years ago, he called vaccines as "an extraordinary achievement," adding that "The discourse about vaccines in the past few years has forgotten how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in human history."

"Plague of Corruption" ends with Neeson's narration saying, "This isn't the finish of our narrative. Rather, it is the beginning of a new chapter."
